Two people rushed to hospital after 3-lorry M25 crash

Two people have been rushed to hospital following the serious crash on the M25 this morning (September 26). Emergency services remain at the scene near junction 28 with the A12 after the crash took place shortly before 6am. The anti-clockwise carriageway where the crash happened has been fully shut since the incident, with two lanes of the clockwise carriageway also shut.

Police, ambulance and firefighter crews attended the scene. The Met Police have confirmed two people were taken to hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The road remains shut but is “in the process” of being reopened, the force added.

Officers, Essex Fire & Rescue, London Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance attended. “The driver and passenger of the van have been taken to hospital for treatment; their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. There were no other reported injuries.

The motorway was closed while emergency services were on scene. It is in the process of being reopened.” An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 5.56am with reports of a collision near junction 28 of the M25.

We sent Essex and Herts Air Ambulance, the Hazardous Area Response Team, two ambulance officers and three ambulances.

“One person was taken to Queens Hospital by land ambulance and one person was taken to The Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine by land ambulance for further care.” An Essex Fire Service spokesman said: “Our crews were called to a road traffic collision on the M25, anti-clockwise between junction 28 and 27, at 5.52am. On arrival firefighters reported twp HGVs and a van were involved in a road traffic collision.

Firefighters worked to release two trapped casualties and are currently working to make the scene safe.”

A diversion route remains in place this morning and motorists are advised to avoid the area until traffic congestion clears and the road reopens.
