Traffic diverted off the M2 from J1, A2, Strood, to J3 at Chatham and Rochester
Traffic is gridlocked on the M2 due to what’s believed to be a police incident. The motorway is closed in both directions from Junction 1, Strood, to J3 at Chatham and Rochester.
Part of the M2 is blocked, causing congestion
junction two for Rochester[1] and Strood to junction three for Chatham and Maidstone[2]. Traffic is being diverted off at junction two.
One driver reported that all three lanes are trying to get off the nearest slip road at once, as although there were overhead warnings of lane closures the cones weren’t staggered.
Road users are advised to follow the Solid Circle diversion symbol on road signs.
More on this as we get it.
