Surrey M25 delays near Staines as broken down van blocks motorway
Drivers are facing long delays on the M25[1] near Staines[2] this morning (September 30) after a van broke down on the busy motorway. All traffic was briefly held on the anticlockwise carriageway between Junction 12 for the M3 and Junction 13 for Staines. Vehicles were stopped for around 20 minutes but have now been released, with lengthy queues persisting as a result.
National Highways currently reports delays of around 30 minutes along this stretch of the motorway. Traffic maps show slow moving traffic along the anti-clockwise carriageway, reaching back beyond Junction 13 towards Junction 14 and the A3113. The latest update from traffic and travel monitoring service Inrix states: “Queueing traffic due to earlier broken down van on M25 anticlockwise before J12 M3.
“Congestion to J13 Staines. After a 20 minute hold.” Cameras along the carriageway show drivers contending with long queues of congestion. This is a live event.
