M5 lanes closed after lorry flips with traffic building

Two lanes were closed on the M5 after a lorry overturned this morning (Monday, September 2). There was slow traffic on the southbound carriageway near Bristol. According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, the lanes were closed between junction 17 for Cribbs Causeway and junction 18 for the M49.

The lanes reopened by 12.30pm. Inrix said: “Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to overturned lorry on M5 Southbound from J17 A4018 (Cribbs Causeway) to J18 M49. Cameras show lane one and two (of three) are closed.”
