Father-of-five killed in crash involving lorry and car
A 40-year-old father of five has died following a crash[1] in Co Fermanagh[2], police have confirmed.
Daniel Lavelle, from the Donagh area, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision in Lisnaskea[3].
Roads Inspector Cherith Adair from the PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit said: “Police received a report at approximately 5.30pm of a collision involving a lorry and car on the Crom Road.”
“Officers attended, alongside our colleagues from other emergency services.
Sadly, the driver of the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“The driver of the lorry, a 48-year-old man, has subsequently been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He remains in custody at this time.”
The Crom Road remained closed on Thursday morning and motorists were being advised to seek alternative routes.
Inspector Adair added that detectives are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
