A127 closed near Basildon after lorry and car involved in crash

The A127 was blocked near Basildon on Monday afternoon (September 23). The major dual carriageway was blocked near the Duntion junction on the London-bound carriageway after a lorry was involved in a crash. Traffic was slow from around 3.15pm as a result.

Motorists were warned of long delays following the road blockage. “We were called to reports of a collision involving a lorry and a car on the A127 near Dunton shortly before 3.10pm today (Monday 23 September),” an Essex Police spokesperson said. “We need anyone who has any dash cam or other footage to get in contact with us.” Get more traffic and travel news from EssexLive straight to your inbox for FREE[1]

They added: “Please quote incident 757 of 23 September. You can let us know by submitting a report on our website or by using our online Live Chat service which is available 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week.” The road reopened at around 5.15pm.
