Trains cancelled after lorry ‘smashes into’ railway bridge in south Essex

Greater Anglia says all lines are blocked after the crash at Hockley with cancellations and delays to services running through Hockley station. Network Rail staff are on site to make a safety inspection of the railway bridge, and AA is reporting heavy traffic at the scene on Spa Road both ways near Plumberow Avenue. Greater Anglia ticket holders will be able to travel on the c2c line between Southend[1] Central and Fenchurch Street.

? Due to a road vehicle colliding with a bridge at #Hockley[2] all lines are blocked. Train services running through this station may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

Disruption is expected until further notice.
