Police remain at scene after ‘serious’ crash between lorry and motorbike
A road just off Brentwood High Street is shut following a “serious” crash. Running Waters, a road just off the A128 in Ingrave is closed in both directions following the incident. Shortly before 7.40am on Sunday morning, there was a collision between a lorry and a motorcycle in the road, police have confirmed.
The crash is being considered as serious, and there are still police at the scene. A cordon has closed the road between Knights Way and Pondfield Lane. Traffic is being turned around and told to take an alternative route this afternoon.
At the scene, there are three police cars cordoning off the road. A number of police officers remain on scene. A spokesperson from Essex Police said: “We continue to carry out investigative enquiries at Running Waters, Brentwood, following a collision involving a lorry and a motorcycle that occurred shortly before 7.40am today, Sunday August 4.
The road will remain closed to assist us. “We’d like anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who was driving in the area at the time, to checking their dashcam footage to see if they have captured anything that may help our investigation. Please call 101 and quote incident 302 of August 4. ”
Given a damaged vehicle does remain at the scene it’s likely that will need to be recovered first before the road can reopen.
We’ll update this article if Essex Police or other emergency services do issue any further information.
