Pictures of Lizzie’s Farm near Birmingham where Highland cows roam and ‘fuss’ is encouraged

The sweet farm is free to visit as long as you buy something in the tea room or the shop Talk about well-kept secrets, Lizzie’s Farm is just on the border where Birmingham meets Bromsgrove[1] and it’s a wonderful little place, especially if you love Highland cows! There’s a good chance you’ve seen Lizzie’s herd when you’ve been driving to join the M5 – the farm is just tucked away off that island where the A38 joins the motorway.

Not only can you meet the animals – sheep, goats, ducks and a donkey – but there’s lots of relaxing space to enjoy a coffee and a piece of cake, and a barn for rabbits, guinea pigs and other little friends too. We’ll tell you everything about our visit in another story but in this one, we just wanted to share a few pictures, to give you an idea of what to expect. From the lush plum tree to the wide open spaces where the cows roam and the barn where baby Charlie is scritching himself with his horns, the place is lovely.

The gift shop is well stocked too, and there’s plenty of meat, eggs, firewood, hay and other local bits and bobs to buy in the shop too. Sign up for the Brum Food Club free weekly newsletter[3] for updates on what’s happening in the city’s food and drink scene[4]. If you really want to splash out, they sell handbags and jewellery.

If you just want a pasty and a cuppa before going to meet the cows though? They’ve got you covered. As far as fuss goes, you can book in at Lizzie’s Farm to take a tour with Farmer John, meeting the animals up close, giving their fur a brush and giving them lots of ‘fuss’.

That’s bookable, and incurs a charge.

We’ll share more on that in our other story, so keep your eyes peeled on our What’s On[5] page.
