Man dies in horror N7 crash involving truck and car as gardai close road
A young man has died in a collision on the N7 westbound in Dublin. The crash, involving a car and a truck, happened between Junction 4 and Junction 5 at around 9am on Saturday. Emergency services attended and a passenger in the car, a man aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car has also been treated for non-life threatening injuries. Gardai have closed off a stretch of road for a forensic collision investigation, with local diversions in place.
Witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage is asked to contact gardai.
A Garda spokesman said: “Gardai and emergency services are attending the scene of a fatal road traffic collision between Junction 4 and Junction 5 on the N7 westbound, Co. Dublin, Saturday, 17th August 2024. “The collision occurred at approximately 9:00am this morning and involved a car and a truck.
A passenger in the car, a man aged in his 30s, has been pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the car has also been treated for non-life threatening injuries. “This stretch of road is currently closed pending the completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Local diversions are in place. “Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time of the incident, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardai.
