M40 closure in place due to roadworks, bus company warns
Oxford[1] Tube has warned passengers that roadworks mean the M40 junction six exit and entry slip roads near Lewknor will be closed from 9.30pm on Friday until 6am on Saturday. This affects those travelling towards Oxford. The bus company apologised to customers ahead of the disruption as it warned about the closure in place.
A statement from Oxford Tube said: “Due to roadworks the exit and entry slip roads at M40 J6, Lewknor Oxford bound will be closed tonight. “We will be unable to use our normal stop, but will be using the Mercure Lambert Arms instead. “We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
There is also a closure in place on the M40 London bound between junction two and junction one from 10pm to 5am. A statement from Oxford Tube said: “All stops will be served but we may experience some delays. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
Oxford Tube is part of Stagecoach West, owned by Stagecoach Group. The Oxford Tube has been in operation since March 1987. A statement on the Oxford Tube website says: “Operating along the M40 motorway, the core service is a frequent, hop on and hop off service running 24 hours a day, seven days a week, throughout the year.
“Some weekday trips also originate in West Oxfordshire and stop at High Wycombe too.”
