M4 traffic live: Vehicle fire sparks huge 90 minute delay chaos

There are severe delays on a stretch of the M4 this afternoon (Sunday, August 11) following a vehicle fire. Hold-ups are continuing due to recovery work and the need for resurfacing. The affected stretch of motorway is from junction 15 (for the A419) near Swindon to junction 14 for Hungerford.

The A419/M4 link is used by motorists heading from Gloucestershire via Cirencester and Swindon to head towards Reading and ultimately London. National Highways says normal traffic conditions aren’t expected until 4.30pm on Sunday. It said delays are at 90 minutes compared to normal traffic conditions.
