Live updates as North Wales drivers warned of ‘severe delays’ on M56
Two lanes were closed on the M56 so that workers could carry out emergency repairs on a broken metal grid. The incident caused “severe” hold-ups for motorists. Traffic Wales warned that delays were likely for eastbound traffic leaving North Wales via the A55, A494 and A550.
The repairs were on the eastbound section between junction 14 for Ellesmere Port and junction 12 for Runcorn. There is no junction 13 on the M56. This is a breaking news story.
