Live M5 traffic as weekend getaway begins and holidaymakers clog motorway

Motorists are stuck in queuing traffic on the M5 ahead of a busy summer weekend[1]. Getaway traffic has set off, leaving long delays south of Bristol through Somerset, as holidaymakers flock to the West Country[2]. According to traffic monitor[3] Inrix, there are long delays on the motorway near Bristol and National Highways traffic cameras show queues building on the motorway.

Traffic is moving particularly slowly between junctions 23-22, and junctions 20-19. Inrix reports: “Long delays due to holiday traffic on M5 southbound at J20 B3133 Ettlingen Way (Clevedon). Travel time is around 50 minutes.”
