Carlisle road closures: Three to avoid over the next fortnight
But the news isn’t too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes. The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week: o M6, from 8pm August 22 to 6am September 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 43 to 44, Lane 1/2 closure for Message sign installations.
And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks: o A69, from 7pm to 11pm on August 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 Corby Hill crossroads – four-way lights to carry out, junction resurfacing work. o M6, from 7am September 2 to 7pm September 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 41 to 42 – lane closure for communications.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
