Road, Rail and Ale Fest to be staged around vintage buses, trains and trucks in Nottinghamshire
The beer will be flowing at a new festival taking place in the unusual setting of the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre in Ruddington[1]. Called Road, Rail and Ale Fest, the event will showcase around 40 beers[2] from local microbreweries. Local lager, ciders and a selection of wine and spirits will also be served, with the backdrop of vintage buses, trains and trucks at the site in Mere Way.
Hungry visitors will be able to fill up on street food from local vendors with entertainment[3] from bands and musicians on stage in the Music Shed. Drinkers will be able to have free trips on some of the classic buses at the unique celebration. The centre has a diverse fleet of buses and coaches, from NCT, Barton, South Notts, Trent, and Midland General, spanning the 20th century, from classic half-cabs to 1980s rear-engined designs.
The festival will be staged on Friday September 6 and Saturday September 7 from noon to 9pm.
Tickets from gigantic.com cost GBP16.50 and include a glass, 10 tokens and three halves of beer.
Entry is free for under 18s who must be accompanied by an adult.
