A69 lorry fire LIVE: Road reopens with traffic lights in place after six hour closure
A major road in Northumberland has now reopened following a lorry fire. The A69 was closed in both directions and there was queueing traffic due to a lorry fire between the A686 at Haydon Bridge and Hexham Road junction at Warden. Emergency services attended the scene.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At 10.20am today (Tuesday) we received a report of a vehicle fire on the A69 at Haydon Bridge, in Northumberland. Emergency services are in attendance. A section of the road is closed in both directions and motorists should use alternative routes where possible.”
