No arrests made as police continue to investigate fatal crash involving stolen car
Police officers rushed to the scene of a collision involving an HGV lorry and a silver Peugeot 107 on June 13, just after 3am. George Hughes, of Meyrick Close in Bransgore, died at the scene. Mr Hughes, aged 51, was driving a stolen car at the time of the incident[1] on the A326, at the junction with Monkton Lane.
It was confirmed the Peugeot 107 had been equipped with a cloned license plate and had been stolen from Fordingbridge Car Park on December 23 last year. Nearly three weeks on and police have confirmed that no arrests have yet been made in connection to the crash. The inquest into Mr Hughes’ death was opened at Winchester Coroners’ Court last month.[3][4][5]
The cause of death was given as multiple injuries due to a road traffic collision.
