Man hospitalised after air ambulance called to M1 lorry crash

All lanes on the motorway were closed northbound between Cricklewood and Elstree from around 8.20pm yesterday (July 24) to 12.10am due to the collision. National Highways said the closure was to allow the emergency services, including the Metropolitan Police, to deal with a crash involving a lorry. This incident is now clear, and the #M1[1] in #GreaterLondon[2] is now OPEN northbound between J1 #Cricklewood[3] and J4 #Elstree[4].

Today, a spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service confirmed they were called at 7.35pm and sent an air ambulance and ambulance crew within four minutes. One man was treated at the scene before he was taken to a major trauma centre in London by road.

The London Ambulance Service declined to comment on the nature and severity of the man’s injuries.
