M40 closed for hours after ‘serious’ crash between lorry and car
A ‘serious’ crash between a lorry and a car closed part on the M40 for hours. The collision took place on the northbound stretch between junction 12 and junction 14 in the early hours of this morning (July 7). Police closed off the stretch of motorway at just before 2.40am while firefighters and medics tended to two patients.
One of them is said to have been seriously injured. It is unclear if both were taken to hospital. CoventryLive has contacted West Midlands Ambulance Service and also Warwickshire[1] Police about the incident.
It is known that the central reservation barrier was left damaged following the collision and both vehicles had to be recovered from the scene.
All lanes were re-opened at just before 4.45am.
