This closure is referred to as Brock Zero. The closure will allow freight heading for the port to queue on the empty section of motorway in order to keep any disruption to Kent’s wider road network to a minimum.

All EU-bound freight must use the M20 while all other traffic must follow the signed diversions. The lorries will be separated into two queues in the hard shoulder and lane three of the carriageway – one for Eurotunnel and the other the Port of Dover. This leaves room for emergency vehicles to move down the middle.
