Live: M5 traffic held following multi-vehicle crash near Gloucester

There is heavy traffic on the M5 near Gloucester[1] following a multi-vehicle crash this afternoon, Tuesday, July 30. Traffic on the M5 northbound, at junction 11, has been held temporarily following the crash, causing long delays. Road and traffic monitoring[2] site Inrix reported the crash at 2.50pm.

It said: “All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to multi-vehicle accident on M5 northbound at J11 A40 (Gloucester / Golden Valley Bypass). Camera shows traffic has been held near J11A (Gloucester / Brockworth Bypass).” A picture of the motorway shows no traffic at junction 11 as emergency vehicles appear to have closed the whole road.

It is not known at this time how many vehicles are involved, or if anyone has sustained any injuries. Emergency services have been contacted for further information. This is a live blog.
