Housebuilder to launch major development in Wrexham

A 74-home development is coming to Wrexham after Bellway purchased eight acres of land in the area. The development will be known as Holt Vale and is situated on Holt Road just over one mile outside of the town centre. The land was formerly owned by Wrexham University, while planning permission has been granted for 74 one, two, three and four bedroom homes, including 18 affordable properties for discounted market sale.

The area is surrounded by open green space. Jenny Bell, sales director at Bellway North West, said: "Building on the popularity of our previous developments in the area, we are delighted to have confirmed plans to bring more new homes to Wrexham and are looking forward to getting started on site in the next few months. "Located within walking distance of Wrexham town centre and close to transport links and the motorway network for easy access across the North West, the development sits in a semi-rural setting that is just a short drive away from the beautiful wide open spaces and rugged coastline of North Wales.

We are confident that it will appeal to a wide range of homebuyers when we release the first properties for sale later this year." Construction at Holt Vale is expected to take around four years, with the first homes released for sale in early spring 2025, with the showhomes opening and first occupancy scheduled for spring/summer 2025. Bellway has committed to making a number of financial and legacy contributions, including an educational contribution of approximately GBP213,000 towards the provision, extension and improvement of primary education facilities at Borras Park County School, or to contribute towards the cost of a new primary school.

Legat Owen marketed the site on behalf of Wrexham University, with Peacock & Smith planning consultants, APD architects and Highstone Group landscape architects assisting Bellway with securing planning consent in May this year.
