Edinburgh police stop cyclist travelling on major motorway at night
A cyclist was stopped in their tracks by police on a major road.[1] The cyclist was reported to have travelled down the motorway near Newbridge with no lights and clad in dark clothes at around 11pm on Wednesday. Officers said they received ‘several calls’ of concern after the pushbike was reportedly spotted being used on the M8.
Edinburgh Road Policing posted on X, they said: “Edinburgh road police stopped this pushbike on the M8 Motorway at Newbridge after several calls were received stating it was being used on the Motorway with no lights and the cyclist dressed all in dark clothing. “The cyclist was reported to the court.” Sign up to Edinburgh Live newsletters[4] for more headlines straight to your inbox
