Crash on M6 at Preston causes severe delays of an hour

Junction 32 and 33 on the M6 motorway are currently closed in both directions due to a crash. Police anticipate this will be closed for some time, and ask drivers to find an alternative route where possible. LIVE UPDATES: M6 closed in both directions after crash[1]

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “The M6 J32-J33 is closed in both directions due to a road traffic collision. “We anticipate this will be closed for some time. “Please avoid the area and use an alternative route where possible.

“We’ll provide an update once cleared and thank you in advance for your patience.” Live traffic site AA reports that all lanes stopped have been stopped causing stationary traffic. Traffic is building on the A6 Preston Lancaster Road (Lancaster South / Garstang) to J32 M55 (Broughton Interchange).

Severe delays of 67 minutes and delays are increasing on M6 Southbound between Stony Lane (Lancaster Services) and J32 M55 (Broughton Interchange). Average speed five mph. Severe delays of 13 minutes and delays are also increasing on M6 Northbound in Lancashire.

Average speed ten mph.
