Tributes for ‘bright and beautiful’ mother-of-one who died following lorry crash
Tributes have poured in for a young mother-of-one who sadly died following a crash in Co Derry[1] on Saturday. Louisa Jane Crawford was the driver of a black BMW which collided with a lorry on the Glenkeen Road in Aghadowey at around 3.20am on June 8. The 26-year-old has been described as a "bright and beautiful" young woman who "always smiled and made everyone's day so much better".
She is described in a family notice as "dearly beloved daughter of Ian and Barbara, dearest sister of Christopher, Megan and Jack, dear partner of Lee, loving mother of Bobby-John, loving granddaughter of John and the late Sadie also of Pat and the late Bobby" Writing on social media, one friend said: "Completely lost for words, you were such a loving, caring person that would do anything for anyone. "You always smiled and made everyone's day so much better, you will be missed by so many and I will cherish every memory we had and all the laughs, until we meet again."
East Londonderry MLA Claire Sugden also offered her sincerest condolences and prayers to the late mum-of-one's family and friends. "Louisa's loved-ones are undoubtedly suffering tremendously at the moment, having lost such a bright and beautiful daughter, mother, sister, partner, grand-daughter and friend," Ms Sugden said. "It is always impossibly hard to lose a person you love in such a tragic accident, but especially so when it is a young woman in the prime of her life.
"At this extremely difficult time, I would like to offer my thoughts and prayers to everyone who knew her." She added: "The emergency and health services should be thanked for their quick response and care. Police are requesting that anyone who may have witnessed anything around this time - or who may have relevant dash-cam footage - to contact the Collision Investigation Unit by calling 101, quoting reference 206 08/06/24."
Writing on social media, another friend said he was "just in disbelief" following the sad news of Louisa Jane's passing. "Taken to soon, you were the life and soul of a party and the memories you left us with will forever be in our hearts." The friend added: "You will be sorely missed by so many.
Thoughts go out the the entire Crawford family and little Bobby-John. Rest easy Louisa."
