A road is set to be closed for most of today after a serious crash involving a car and a lorry near the M27.

The collision happened on the A326 which links with the M27 near Totton. AA Traffic News reported the incident just after 3am and said: “Road closed due to crash, A car and a lorry involved on A326 both ways from Fletchwood Road to A35 Hunters Hill.” Hampshire County Council posted on social media: “Road Closure Alert: Owing to serious road traffic incident, the A326 between Cockley Down roundabout and Fletchwood Lane/Ringwood Road is closed in both directions.

Likely to remain closed for most of today.” Hampshire Roads Policing Unit said: “The A326 at Totton is closed in both directions between the A35 and Fletchwood Road due to a serious collision. There is no access from Monkton Lane.

The road will be closed for most of the morning so please find an alternative route.”
