Second person dies following A2 horror crash between lorry and van
A second person has died following a horror crash on the A2. Police rushed to the coastbound carriageway following a collision involving a lorry and a van at around 4.15pm on May 31. Two lorries were parked on the hard shoulder when a white Mercedes Sprinter van collided into with one of the lorries.
The driver of the lorry was left with minor injuries, but the van driver, a 50-year-old man, died at the scene. The passenger - a 20-year-old man - was seriously injured and was taken to a London hospital by air ambulance, but died on June 4. The next of kin for both victims have been informed.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are renewing their appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles beforehand to call the SCIU witness appeal line on 01622 798538, or email [email protected] quoting EX/HG/058/24.
