Officers were called to the Pennyfuir area after the dead man was discovered. It was established that the pedestrian had been involved in a collision[3] with a heavy goods vehicle in the town’s George Street earlier that evening.

He was found around two miles away from the site of the crash. The HGV and driver have been traced and enquiries remain[4] ongoing.
