COPS have launched a major probe after a body of a man was found at the side of a Scots road following a horror crash with a lorry.

Emergency services^[1] raced to the scene on the A85 near Oban after the alarm was raised at around 1.55am this morning^[2].

Officers were called to the Pennyfuir area after the dead man was discovered.

It was established that the pedestrian had been involved in a collision^[3] with a heavy goods vehicle in the town’s George Street earlier that evening.

He was found around two miles away from the site of the crash.

The HGV and driver have been traced and enquiries remain^[4] ongoing.

Police^[5] Scotland said they are working to establish the circumstances to the death^[6] as mercy crews remain at the scene.

Inspector Roy McCarney, from the Dumbarton^[7] Road Policing Unit, said: “Emergency services remain at the scene as we work^[8] to establish the circumstances of the incident.
