M6 crash between lorry and car leaves two men in Royal Stoke

Two men suffered 'potentially serious injuries' following a crash between a lorry and a car on the M6 in Staffordshire. The pair - the driver and passenger in the car - were both taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital. Emergency services were sent to the northbound side between junctions 13 for Stafford and 14 for Stone following the collision, which happened at around 2.30pm today (June 13).

All lanes have since reopened but nine miles of traffic remain with delays of around 90 minutes. Two ambulances were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered a car and a lorry had been involved in a collision. "The driver and passenger of the car, both men, were treated by ambulance staff for potentially serious injuries and taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment." In the latest update, National Highways West Midlands said: "The crash on the M6 northbound between junctions 13 and 14 has now cleared.

The car and lorry that collided earlier have been recovered and all four lanes are now open.

There remains a 90-minute delay and nine miles of congestion from junction 11 but this should start to ease now."
