M5 traffic live: Motorway closed after serious multi-vehicle crash

A serious multi-vehicle crash on the M5 in Worcestershire is causing long delays for drivers this evening (Friday, June 14). The crash happened northbound at junction seven for Worcester and Evesham at around 6pm. Traffic was held heading north shortly before 6.10pm and the stretch of road was closed at 6.40pm.

Shortly after 7pm, the southbound side was also closed. National Highways said on X: "Following a serious multiple vehicle collision, the M5 is now closed in both directions within J7 for (#Worcester). Traffic is being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads at this stage."

One motorist said on X: "Traffic northbound on M5 near Evesham is about five miles standstill. White car overturned middle of the road. Five fire engines in attendance, police and ambulances."
