Lorry driver arrested at the scene of serious collision in Cheshire
Police are appealing for witnesses and video footage following the crash near Nantwich. At about 7.45am yesterday (Monday, June 17) police were called to reports of the collision on the A530, Shrewbridge Road, Baddington. Officers attended the scene and found that there had been a collision between a lorry and a Nissan Note.
The driver of the Nissan, as 35-year-old woman from Whitchurch, was trapped in their vehicle. She was released by firefighters and taken to the Royal Stoke Hospital and her injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this time. The driver of the lorry, a 57-year-old man from Kidsgrove, was uninjured.
The man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving; he has since been released under investigation.
The A530 was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident, they left at around 1pm and the scene has since been passed to highways officers.
