Live M25 updates as crash causing six mile queues with all traffic held
All clockwise traffic on the M25 in Surrey was held near Godstone on Tuesday (June 18) after a collision with congestion back to the M26 in Kent. Drivers on the motorway were warned of long delays of 45 minutes and six miles of queues. The incident was first reported around 4.30pm and was fully cleared shortly after 5pm.
National Highways confirmed: "Traffic is stopped on the M25 clockwise between J5 M26 and J6 Godstone due to a collision." The roads agency continued: "Traffic officers and recovery are on scene. "There are six miles of congestion on approach causing 45-minute delays above normal journey time." Travel service Inrix added: "All traffic being temporarily held and long delays due to recovery work and accident on M25 clockwise before J6 A22 (Godstone).
Congestion to J5 (M26 interchange)."
