Dramatic Oxford footage shows crash between lorry and car

Dramatic footage has been revealed of a crash between a lorry and a car on Oxford’s ring road which has left a motorist in hospital. The crash involving a lorry and a Toyota car happened on the A40 Headington, Barton Park Ring Road, on Monday (June 3), which was reported at 6.20am. The collision led to a partial road closure, which was announced at 9.53am, and the road was reopened at approximately 10.10am.

Thames Valley Police and Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue were in attendance. Police have said the driver of the Toyota is in hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

This video, sent in by an eyewitness to the Oxford Mail, shows the crash.

The video shows an ambulance arriving at the scene promptly a minute and a half after the crash. Community safety group Barton Park Crossing posted a picture the same day expressing their concerns.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “We received a report of a road traffic collision involving a Daf Trauck and Toyota Corolla at around 6.20am on Monday (June 3) on the A40. “Officers are investigating the incident. “No arrests have been made at this time.

“The driver of the Toyota is still in hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries and the other driver was not injured.

“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting the reference number 43240258151.”
