A90 closed near Laurencekirk after crash involving lorry and pedestrian

Drivers have been urged to avoid the A90 near Laurencekirk [1] this morning after a collision involving a lorry and a male pedestrian. The incident occurred between the Marykirk and North Water Bridge junctions shortly after 5am on Thursday (June 13). Emergency services were called to the scene and the road was shut while crews attending the incident, with the injured man taken to hospital in Dundee.

Drivers have been urged by Traffic Scotland and Police Scotland to avoid the area at this time with the road still shut as of 7.45am. Police Scotland said: "The A90 is currently closed southbound at Marykirk, following a crash involving a lorry and a male pedestrian, around 5.05am today. "The man was taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.

Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area at this time." Traffic Scotland is advising drivers to avoid the area this morning following the collision.

They are then advised to continue on the A935 to the roundabout with Southesk Street and turn left still on the A935 into Panmure Street, and following the road until returning to the A90 at St Ann's Junction.
