M5 traffic live: Crash brings motorway to a standstill in Gloucestershire

Traffic on the M5 was brought to a standstill following a crash in Gloucestershire this morning (Monday, May 13). According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, delays were building on the northbound carriageway ahead of the rush-hour. The crash took place between junction 12 for Quedgeley and junction 11A for Gloucester.

It was first reported at around 6.40am and there were tailbacks of around two miles. All lanes were closed at one point for the vehicles and debris to be removed. But all lanes have since reopened although delays remain.

Separately, there are delays on the M4 near Bristol due to a broken down vehicle. It's happened eastbound from J20 M5 J15 (Almondsbury Interchange) to J19 M32 (Bristol). This is a live blog.
