A crash on the M1 caused around 10 miles worth of congestion on the motorway and delayed drivers by more than a hour. National Highways explained at around 3pm on Wednesday, May 29, that three out of four lanes had been closed on the M1 northbound due to a collision near junction 31 for Worksop[1]. Posting to social media site X, National Highways said: “There are delays of over an hour on the #M1[2] northbound between J29a #Bolsover and J31 #Worksop due to a collision at J31 that has closed three (of four) lanes.” The closed lanes were later reopened at around 3.40pm, but disruption continued for more than an hour afterwards.
