Live A414 traffic updates as serious lorry crash closes road near Writtle with long delays
Air ambulance sent to fatal crash scene
Three ambulances and the air ambulance were among the large scale emergency service response to a crash on the A414 near to Writtle earlier today. A spokesperson from the East of England Ambulance Service Trust has told EssexLive: "We were called just after 10am with reports of a road traffic collision on the A414 in Writtle involving a lorry and a car. "Three ambulances, four Hazardous Area Response Team vehicles, an ambulance officer vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of medical crews, an adult woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"One other patient was transported by road to Broomfield Hospital for further care."
