Investigations into fatal A46 crash continue after pedestrian dies after being struck by lorry

Investigations are continuing after a pedestrian was killed after being struck by a lorry. The incident happened on the A46 near Evesham on Tuesday morning (May 7). A 28-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, which was by the layby close to the Beckford Road turning in Dumbleton.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured and no arrests have been made following the incident, shortly after 6am. West Mercia Police want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision and may have seen or have dash-cam footage of the collision, or of the pedestrian or lorry in the minutes before the collision. Diversions were in place into the afternoon following the fatal incident. Drivers were advised to avoid the area while investigation work continued. The road was shut from the Teddington Hands Roundabout, near Tewkesbury, to the Cheltenham Road roundabout at Evesham.
