Girls Aloud in Newcastle LIVE
So the wait is over, Girls Aloud weekend is here as The Show tour arrives in Newcastle for three consecutive nights at the Utilita Arena. Tickets flew out as soon as they went on sale last year for the tour, the group’s first in 11 years and also sadly, their first without band band member Sarah Harding, who passed away at the age of just 39 in 2021, after a battle with cancer. As soon as they announced plans for The Show dates, Cheryl, Nadine, Nicola and Kimberley vowed to make them a tribute to Sarah and they’ve stayed true to their word, as the concert includes a number of tender moments in her honour.
The Girls Aloud[1] tour began in Dublin on May 17 and has since played the likes of Belfast, Manchester and Sheffield and now it’s Newcastle’s turn, with fans ready to flock to the Utilita Arena[2] on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to enjoy all the hits like The Promise, Love Machine, I’ll Stand By You, Jump and Call The shots.
The gigs will be particularly memorable for Geordie girl Cheryl, as she makes a return to home turf and, on Friday, things are set to be exceptionally busy in the city, due to England Lionesses playing at St nearby St James’ Park.
Stay with us for all the key updates, any traffic alerts, fan reaction and our verdict after the concert.
