A456 Hagley Hill: Cyclist injured in collision with lorry

West Midlands Ambulance Service said they were called to reports of an RTC on Hagley Hill at around 1.35pm today (Wednesday, May 15). The collision involved a cyclist and a lorry with an ambulance, MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic sent to the scene. West Mercia Police were also in attendance and closed the A456 along the eastbound carriageway following reports of a collision at around 1.50pm.

The cyclist has been taken to hospital with “potentially serious injuries”. A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of an RTC on Hagley Hill in Hagley at around 1.35pm. “An ambulance, MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found a cyclist and a lorry had been involved in a collision.

“The cyclist, a man, was treated for potentially serious injuries and taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for further treatment.” A spokesperson for West Mercia Police added: “Officers are currently at a road traffic collision on the A456 following a report that came in this afternoon (May 15) at around 1.50pm. “The collision involved a vehicle and cyclist.

“The cyclist has been taken to hospital with injuries.”
