Police and ambulance crews are currently at the scene, while drivers in two miles of congestion have been told to expect waits of more than 20 minutes. Motorists are being advised to exit the motorway at junction 3 and follow the diversion signs to rejoin the carriageway.

National Highways officers are also in attendance to assist with traffic management.
