Motorway re-opens after multi-vehicle collision
Six people have been taken to hospital following a "multi-vehicle collision" on the M23 near Gatwick Airport.
Surrey Police said the incident happened at 11.45 BST, closing the northbound carriageway between Junction 9 for the airport and Junction 8 for the M25.
The southbound carriageway also closed temporarily to allow the air ambulance to land but was opened shortly after.
Two lanes of the northbound carriageway re-opened at 14:20 BST, two remain closed.
West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service (WSFRS) said it was called to a three-vehicle collision and sent response units from Crawley and East Grinstead, along with crews from Surrey Fire & Rescue Service.
