All lanes have been reopened on the M6 northbound after a crash involving a pedestrian and a car[8] near Preston. Advertisement [9] National Highways North West confirmed the motorway was reopened between Junction 32 (Broughton) and Junction 33 (Garstang) at 7.48pm on Tuesday (23 April).

There are still delays of about 10 to 15 minutes on the approach to Junction 32. The motorway[11] was shut just before 4pm due to a ‘serious police incident’[12]. Advertisements

Gridlock ensued on the M6 with queues back to Junction 28 and the A6 and routes through Preston became congested. There are still residual delays across the city’s road network and up the A6 to Garstang from Broughton as traffic clears from the routes.
