Live: M5 traffic halted as car flips in multi-vehicle crash

Long delays have been reported on the M5 after a car flipped onto its roof in a rush hour crash near Bristol. According to reports, five vehicles were involved in the collision on the southbound carriageway over the Avonmouth bridge. Emergency services are at the scene.

Traffic monitor Inrix reports one car has overturned onto its roof in a live lane, while the other four vehicles are in the hard shoulder. Three lanes have been closed between junctions 18 and 19, Bristol Live reports.[1] Inrix reports: “All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to multi-vehicle accident on M5 Avonmouth Bridge Southbound from J18 M49 to J19 A369 Martcombe Road (Portishead).

Traffic held around 17:50, there are four vehicles on the hard shoulder and one car overturned in a live lane.”
