Police have seized suspected cocaine with a street value of GBP200,000 following the stop and search of a vehicle in Co Tyrone.

A 41-year-old man was arrested after the vehicle was stopped on Omagh Road in Dungannon at around 2.30pm on Tuesday.

Detectives from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch also uncovered cash in both Euro and Sterling notes with a combined total value of approximately GBP50,000.

The suspect was detained on suspicion of possession of a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply and possession of criminal property.

PSNI Detective Inspector Sweeney said the discovery resulted from an ongoing investigation into serious and organised criminality.

"We remain determined to remove harmful drugs from our streets and to remove money and assets from those who trade in such drugs," he added.

"We rely on information from the communities affected to allow us to make such seizures and continue to disrupt organised criminality.
