M4 traffic live: Crashes spark lane closures and long delays

Long delays and heavy traffic have been reported on the M4 either side of Bristol after two crashes took place on the motorway. Traffic heading towards Bristol is affected at both crashes, with two lanes closed in both locations. Traffic cameras show long delays and congestion building on the westbound carriageway in Wiltshire, between Swindon and Chippenham.

Meanwhile, traffic reporting system Inrix says another crash has taken place across the border in Newport. Inrix reports: "Heavy traffic and two lanes closed due to accident on M4 Westbound between J16 A3102 Swindon Road (Swindon West) and J17 A350 (Chippenham)." It adds: "Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M4 Eastbound from J29 A48(M) to J28 A48 (Tredegar Park)."
