Woman killed in M4 multi-vehicle crash near M5 junction
A woman has been killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the M4. The fatal collision happened on the westbound carriageway between junction 19 for the M32 and junction 20 for the M5 on Saturday at around 12.56pm.
Five vehicles were involved in the collision which closed the motorway in this direction for a number of hours. Emergency services attended the scene but a woman in her 60s died at the scene.
Avon and Somerset officers are appealing for dash-cam footage to help their investigation. They also want to speak to anyone who was on the M4 at the time of the incident and who may have seen what happened.
Avon and Somerset Police said on Saturday: “We are appealing for witnesses after a woman sadly died following a collision today.
“Her next of kin has been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time. They are being offered support by a specially-trained family liaison officer.”
