M5 live as crash halts traffic in both directions
There are serious delays on the M5 this afternoon[1] after a crash caused traffic to be halted in both directions. Drivers heading towards Bristol were stopped between junctions 24 and 23 near Bridgwater at around 3.30pm today, Wednesday, February 14.
Traffic monitor Inrix reported very slow traffic[2] in the area. Two lanes were initially closed and tailbacks are growing in the area, both north and south of the crash site.
Inrix said: “All traffic being temporarily held and very slow traffic due to accident on M5 northbound from J24 A38 Taunton Road (Bridgwater South) to J23 A39 (Bridgwater North). Lanes two and three (of three) are also closed on the opposite side.”
